Great Runn of Kutch

Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary

Gir National Park is one of the popular national park of India among the tourist and a sightseeing pull of Sasan-Gir. It is the only remaining habitat of the Asiatic lion, which has been confined to this forest. The park is also home to deers, peacock, gazelles and nilgais. The border of this forest reserve is home to some villages and hamlets inhabited by the Maldhari tribes. A tour of these villages will also one a glimpse into the lives they lead and their folk art.

Kankaria Lake

Kankaria Lake is located in the southeastern part of Ahemadabad, the capital city of Gujarat. It is one of the biggest lakes in Ahmedabad constructed by the Sultam Kutubuddin in mid of 15th century. It is an artificial lake with 34 sides. The lake contains a charismatic summer palace island fully covered with the green trees. Amongst the places to be visited near the lake is the island garden at its centre with a summer palace known as Nagina Wadi. Lush green parks, an aquarium, a boat club, a natural historic museum and a zoo surrounding the park make the lake a place to be visited in Ahemadabad.

Porbandar Beach

Porbandar is a coastal city of Gujarat. It is popular for being the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. This place with the significant event in history is a tourist destination which modestly offers a number of appealing sightseeing. Home of Mahatma Gandhi is the most prominent tourist attraction of Porbandar which has been renovated to become a temple of peace presently know as Kirti Mandir. Chowpatty beach of Porbandar is also a tourist attraction of that city. The scenic beauty of this place is mesmerizing. Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary

Situated at Jamnagar district of Gujarat Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary provide safe heaven of around 300 varieties of migratory birds. The sanctuary is unique having both freshwater lakes, salt and freshwater marshland. It is spread over 65 square kilometres. The sanctuary now has the record of having the highest density of species. There are no facilities of lodges in the area of overnight stay and bird watching is strictly a daytime affair. There are however trails, boating and watchtowers to help birdwatcher to take in the scenery.
